EXTERIOR LOCKS
Locks like the XM100 with the keyhole and spindle hole in "horizontal" alignment have been used since the early 1700's. The "vertical" type, our XM109, was first made in quantity about 1790. We make all parts for both locks in our own shop, as "commercial" production of the bit key type mortised locks has stopped. Backsets available for the XM100 are 4-1/2" to 5-3/4" as stock. XM100 fittings include a turn lock bolt, a bit key lock bolt, with escutcheon rosette combination openwork plate as shown. INTERIOR LOCKS
XM109 locks are available with a backset to match most originals. Special backsets can be provided at reasonable costs to match any lock. All XM109 locks have a polished cast brass keeper, key, lock face, and L200 escutcheon (the 2-1/2" BS lock uses the L96 escutcheon)

The following lock prices include all parts but the knobs and rosettes. Use these, and add knob, drop, or handle prices to "make" the lock you want. The hand of the XM109 locks may be changed while installing, by turning the latch bolt over.
